Is Appjet Dead?

In my opinion, AppJet is not dead, more like hibernation.
You have to understand, the company went over a year with no apparent revenue or further investments. Now they're working on commercial offerings of Etherpad, which is shaping up to be a money magnet. But it's going to require massive scale, so they need to rewrite a ton of code and perfect a server setup. A steady stream of profit will not only keep the company alive but allow it to expand so as to better juggle multiple products. So, though you and I might personally prefer updates to AppJet.net, Etherpad is their best bet going forward.
Etherpad also happens to be an AppJet framework app (at least partially), so they end up working on both internally and are just too busy to push out polished updates.
Although the PR blackout comes off as discourteous, I don't believe we've seen the peak of AppJet.
